The Healing Power of Herbs: Fennel, Parsley & Coriander

The Healing Power of Herbs: Fennel, Parsley & Coriander

There is something about fresh herbs. Tiny, powerful healers gifted to us by nature. In the world of hormone health, herbs have an ability to soothe, balance and restore.

Three of my favourites,  fennel, parsley and coriander are gentle allies for digestion, hormonal balance and inflammation.

Fennel - A Gentle, Digestive Aid

Fresh and subtly sweet, fennel soothes bloating, cramping and digestive distress. Its natural phytoestrogens help balance oestrogen levels, which is especially helpful during PMS or perimenopause. Perfect support during the luteal phase of your cycle.

Parsley - A Natural Cleanser

Parsley supports the body's natural detoxification pathways, clearing excess hormones and acting as a natural diuretic to ease water retention. Rich in vitamin C, folate and antioxidants,  key nutrients for cycle health. Makes parsley ideal to include in the days before your period.

Coriander - The Cool Balancer

Cooling and calming, coriander helps regulate blood sugar which is necessary for hormone balance. Its anti-inflammatory components ease cramps and swelling, particularly beneficial for those experiencing conditions like PCOS and endometriosis.

Hormone Friendly Green Juice

When you combine these herbs with nutrient-rich greens and fruits, you create a blend that is hydrating, fights inflammation and is packed with micronutrients that love your hormones.

Here’s my recipe:

  • 1 small fennel bulb
  • 2 green apple
  • 1 handful kale
  • 1 knob of ginger
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Handful of Kale
  • Handful of parsley leaves
  • Handful coriander leaves

Juice all ingredients (or blend with water, then strain). Drink fresh.

Nutritionist tip: Pair your juice with protein or healthy fats. For a deeper guide on hormone loving food, look out for our upcoming e-book.
